- Data Governance Expertise (Framework & Process Design):
- Critical Data Elements (CDEs):Proven experienceestablishingqualification criteria, running discovery sessions,consolidatinginventories across business domains, and assigning clear data ownership/stewardship roles.
- Data Quality (DQ) & Profiling:Ability to profile datasets, define DQ rules (completeness, validity, consistency, uniqueness), set severity thresholds, and design baseline quality scorecards and remediation backlogs.
- Business Glossary & Metadata:Experience structuring business definitions and capturing metadata attributes (domain, data lineage, systems of record).
- Enterprise Reporting Standards & BI Governance
- KPI Standardization:Experience reviewing current-state executive/operational reports to map lineage, spot calculation contradictions, and build unified Enterprise KPI dictionaries.
- Change Management & Adoption:Ability tovalidatereporting standards with business units, pilot new dashboard templates, andestablishformal certification/approval workflows.
- "Tool Readiness" / Microsoft Purview Familiarity
- While theywon'tbe doing hands-on deployment, the candidatemust know how Microsoft Purview ingests data.
- They need to structure metadata, define logical catalogue models, map out workflow requirements (approval flows), and document technical configuration requirements so a technical team can seamlessly take over.
- Soft Skills & Methodology
- Agile Mindset:Comfortable working in a rolling, prioritized sprint environment where requirements adapt to evolving strategic needs.
- Stakeholder Management:Confident facilitating workshops with data owners, technical stewards, and executive offices to secure formal endorsement records.
