Goals & challenges


BSH had a small, skilled team but lacked the capa­city to handle all data related tasks. They required a trus­ted part­ner to expand their team, deliver solu­tions, and guide internal teams in using the plat­form effi­ciently, by pro­pos­ing new ideas and best prac­tices in AWS while at the same time improve gov­ernance and cost savings.

Archi­tec­ture


The archi­tec­ture is built on AWS tech­no­lo­gies such as Com­pute Optim­izer, MSK, EMR, Timestream, Red­shift, Glue, Athena, ECS, API Gate­way, Air­flow, Lambda, Grafana, EC2, and S3. This setup is com­ple­men­ted by the Atlas­sian stack and Infra­struc­ture-as-Code approaches using Ter­ra­form and OpenTofu.

Gen­er­ated bene­fits


By provid­ing a uni­fied plat­form, BSH has sim­pli­fied data access and cross-team col­lab­or­a­tion and fostered a cul­ture of data shar­ing and innov­a­tion. The plat­form’s scalab­il­ity and the improve­ment of cost effi­ciency ensure that the data infra­struc­ture can be seam­lessly expan­ded as the organ­isa­tion grows, sup­port­ing new use cases and busi­ness ini­ti­at­ives without com­prom­ising per­form­ance or security.

The time required to gather cru­cial inform­a­tion for cent­ral stra­tegic decisions is sig­ni­fic­antly reduced. At the same time, a cent­ral­ized view of all defin­i­tions, pro­cesses, and com­pli­ance approaches is cre­ated, enhan­cing trans­par­ency and efficiency.

Ser­vices accom­plished by synvert 


synvert act­ively encour­aged col­lab­or­a­tion with other teams by provid­ing sup­port and tech­nical guid­ance. Through thor­ough archi­tec­ture reviews, ETL pipelines were optim­ised, espe­cially in the areas of IoT, integ­ra­tion of external sys­tems and migra­tion of ser­vices that were bet­ter suited for spe­cific tasks. In addi­tion, synvert auto­mated CI/CD pipelines for infra­struc­ture man­age­ment, which sig­ni­fic­antly increased effi­ciency. The com­pany also imple­men­ted best prac­tices for cost man­age­ment, secur­ity and per­form­ance. To facil­it­ate the work of the data sci­ent­ists, synvert developed deploy­ment tem­plates and exten­ded the avail­able ser­vices so that they could develop and deploy their applic­a­tions more efficiently.
